Only 2 in C grade - dissapointing

Has anyone heard of the Hunter Central Coast Regional Wind Ensemble? I've never heard of them.....

Actually - the whole contest is a bit brass heavy!

Brass bands are:
A Grade - 15 bands
B Grade - 10 bands
C Grade - 8 bands
D Grade - 6 bands
TOTAL - 39 bands to the concert band 14

I'm glad to see four bands in A Grade. :) A definite improvement over 2 in 2008. Sad not to see the reigning champions there though.

And B Grade looks like its going to be a great competition. Unley are looking forward to the contest!

I've never heard Hills Academy, but i permited with LCCB at East Coast, and they were really good! I can see how they won the state in 07!

lol Hills

In the interests of keeping our ~sponsors~ happy, bensimon, could you please change NWWE to Castle Hill RSL North West Wind Ensemble ?

wittlenix - at least the organisers picked a more intelligent day for the concert bands to perform this year :)

Hey Steamroller

Done! Always happy to help! lol

Also, i agree with your comment regarding the day. Having the concert bands on Friday night like last year? No wonder concerts bands seem to avoid the nats!

Yeah, it is a good day to play - I believe just before the Gala Concert? But of course, it doesn't matter what is organised, there's always someone that whinges. Good Friday is always a difficult day to schedule anything on. Let's just hope now that we get an audience for our fantastic bands! :)

Hey all well now that we know whos going, what are people playing for there own choice? Ill tell you the other band from SA is playing (attempting) an A Grade piece and they're in B grade so we'll see how they go with that!. Our band is doing a classic and its been great fun learning it. Wasn't sure if I wanted to spill the beans and tell everyone what were playing but it was worth a try. So i'll tell if you tell hehehe :D

Flutesy.

Just looking at the changes for C Grade

Central Coast Concert Band are now in C Grade? The last release from the BA had them competing at B Grade. Our Youth Band did a combined concert with them last year, and they were pretty damn solid!!!!

Also, on the last release Western Sydney Regional were listed as D grade.

I played with Central Coast Concert Band and unless they have improved a real lot, don't worry about them Ben
