I use light sewing machine oil with a little water. Works better on the troms rotary valve than the euphos piston valves though.

Apparently spit can work wonders in an emergency - especially if you can get the alcohol content up (eg. Beer, Wine, Vodka....) Shocked

According to my trumpet playing wife in any case!! Laughing

I use light machine oil on my rotary valves in the summer as it stays thin and the valves work fine. Use it in colder weather like winter and it goes a bit thick. That's what Ive found anyway

Use a little water & less oil. It beads on the oil, acting, sort of, like ball bearings.

I just chuck Al Cass, or whatever I have handy, on my rotor valve. Trombonists do tend to be lazy when it comes to their valves though Wink

Speak for yourself. I clean mine once every couple of years!
