Sutherland PCYC Concert Band

Postby Trumpetgirl on Sat Sep 29, 2007 12:20 am

Hi All

Sutherland PCYC C/B will be holding their end of year concert together with the NSW Police Band on Sunday 25th November from 2pm. This will be held at Port Hacking High School, Miranda. Both the PCYC bands and the police band put on a successful concert last year and all members are looking forward to this years concert. Hope to see you there. :D

Hey Trumpet Girl!

Good luck with the concert, i hope it goes well for you!

Would love to be there, but its a little bit far to go from Port Macquarie!

I remember we contested against one of your bands a couple of years ago, and they sounded really good!

Make sure you let us know how it goes, and if you get some pics, we'd love to see them!

Should be a good concert.
Sutherland PCYC senior band will be playing some of the following for the concert.

Zehle's Wellington March
David Holsinger's, Liturgical Dances
Bernstein's, Candide Overture
Grainger's, Irish Tune and Sheperd's Hey

I'm not exactly to sure what the Police Band are playing and what the combined numbers will be, but will keep you all posted.

As a horn player I must say I'm not a fan of marches. There's only so many offbeats a person can handle before insanity sets in... But as far as marches go, Washington Grays is one of my favourites.
