Australian Concert Bands

Hi Guys

I have been discussing with some forum members about how we can promote the ACB Forums better.

To start off with i posted messages on various forums, and emailed as many bands as i could find.

Word of mouth is also working quite well!

How do you think we can further promote the forum? I would love to see us have 100 members by Christmas

If you have a band newsletter, see if you can get it in your newsletter!

Any thoughts or suggestions?

We could request that the members from the various bands get links to the forum placed (prominently) on their websites, as well as putting an article into the "Music Stand" as well as similar publications for the other states.

As well as a "member drive" to encourage each existing member of the forums to introduce at least 1 other member?

Have you been in touch with Chris Earl and his Band World Mag? Might be worth a try there

What about getting something in the Band association Magazine "the Music Stand"

or requesting bands add a link to the site from their website.

I have emailed Allan Lock from the NSW Band Association to see if we can promote it in the music stand. Not sure how we go, as they dont advertise SpitValve, and dont want to be appearing to be favouring one over another

Chris Earl's band mag? What one is that? Chris runs musosmedia.com doesnt he?

If you know any band webmasters, suggest that they add a link! Ill mention it to all that i know

Does anyone else have contact with other band associations's publications (Eg, VBL etc?)

yeah, Musos media... Isnt his mag called band world?? It's supposed to promote brass and concert although concert doesn't get much of a run

Perhaps Concert Bands will get more of a run if Ben contacts them and shows that the genre are alive and very well.

Ive tried to do my bit and you have a lot of new members because of this, Ive emailed all my muso friends and told them of the site.
In regards to Chris Earl and Muso's Media. Chris is a nice guy and I know him well even though he is a Mexican (south of the border) so I'm sure he would promote the site in his Band World magazine. Give him a try Ben.

MYB has put the Forum in there Newsletter once or twice!!! more people would be wikid tho!

Yup! totally agree with you! My biggest fear is to see the forum stop growing and slow down (which will never happen!! )

I try to run it in our band newsletter whenever i think of it!!

Ive also enquired about the posibility of sponsoring some trophies / awards at this years state

Will let you know how that one pans out!
