Australian Concert Bands

Hey All

Does anyone know if there is a concert band version of the Evening Hymn and Last Post? I have also heard an arrangement of Abide with Me, and the Last Post.

It is often featured on the Edinburgh tattoo's, and I have also heard some Aust. service bands play it.

Does anyone know where you can buy it?

In regards to Nighfall in Camp, try Chris Earl at Muso's Media. He's in Kangaroo Flat Victoria and he has an ad in here somewhere for music. You can get his address/number from that. He's pretty good.

Alternatively, you could ring the Police Band here in Sydney. They have a copy and I'm sure the copyright is past on that by now and I'm sure if you told them it was for a community band they would run you off a copy. The man to speak to is their current boss, Senior Sergeant Garth Courtney. He is easy to get on with and you can mention my name if you like. Or anothhr solution, Down Under Drummer in here belongs to the NSW Ambulance Band and they also have a copy. You could sound him out.

Nightfall in Camp starts with Abide With me and goes into Lead Kindly Light when the Last Post starts. A good number.

I actually have a recording of Waltzing Matrilda and the Last Post on my computer which I will sit down and arrange for band when time permits.
