Battle of the Bands

Postby Hornist on Thu Oct 25, 2007 1:25 pm

If you are not doing anything this Sunday afternoon the 28th October come out to Castle Hill RSL and watch a heat of the Battle of the Bands. James Brice's Castle Hill Concert Band is performing and I'm playing with a brass band, but it should be fun anyway. I'm not sure who the other bands are. It starts at 1pm

In our heat on Sunday there were two concert bands. I really think and it's my opinion only that the top grade concert bands in Sydney do not enter this because they are to put it frankly, not entertaining enough. They are and this is my opinion again, too involved in rehearsing the heavy stuff for competitions and lose sight of the fact that we are there first and foremost to entertain.
A good concert band with a good entertaining program should have it all over the brass bands for variety, colour, etc etc.
