I'm not sure if I could play with North West, you guys are too fair dinkum, you know me, I like to do the minimal rehearsals and besides, if I played with a concert band in Brisbane, it means divorce.. Hey wait a minute, that's not a bad idea.. tell James I'm in..

I'm looking forward to the challenge. Don't know if our clari and flutes players will be though :) It also has a mean euph part.

You can find a full length recording of it here.

edited to protect the guilty

Incidentally the open A grade test piece is also on that site. I'm not sure about the other grades.

Really? I didn't realise that. Typical, I jump straight to doing the illegal thing before getting all the facts!

I think i like it lol.

It has some very moving parts in it. Very solemn.

Be interesting to see how the bands pull this one off.

If im not mistaken, i heard a piano in this recording, and also what sounded like rotor toms or some sort of african drums!

Yeah it will be a HUGE job for any of the C grade bands to pull this one off. The percussion parts in the score are huge but there are no african drums or rotor toms marked on the score but but you do need extra toms so I think the idea of using something different like the above mentioned makes for a good effect.
