I use Denis Wick straight and cup, but a Jo Ral "bubble" (wah, wah).
I am thinking about buying a Jo Ral copper bottom straight, but I think the DW is more versatile.

As a trumpeteer i have a range of mutes

Straight, Cup, Harmon, Plunger, Practice etc

They are all Dennis Wick, except my Harmon which is a stone lined copper one (i think - would have to go and check). Anyways, its bloody heavy, and sounds great!

btw - the plunger isnt a branded mute...literally a dunny plunger i bought from Bunnings! Laughing

I have a straight & a cup Humes & Berg for the tenor trom,& a Jo Ral combination (straight & cup) for bass trom.

The band has Wick combination for the cornets & tenor troms (no mute at all for the bass, usually uses mine!)

LOLOL Laughing Laughing

Well, i bought it cause we have an arrangement called Chicago Medly, and it has the great jazz trumpet start. But i found that it sounds a lot better on a stone lined harmon instead of the plunger!
