The Saint and The City - C Grade band level

Hey Guys

Just thought i'd take the chance to let you know about a great piece that our band has

Its called The Saint and the City, by Jacob De Haan (who composed Oregon). It was used by the VBL in the C Grade 2007 Nats as the test piece

We took it to state in Penrith last weekend as our own choice

What a great piece! It has a bit of everything in it! I played it for a mate at work, and he described scenes from a movie to me based on what he was hearing!

It is a fairly hard piece to get right, but it sounds great

Highly recommended!!

Love to hear what other ppl have thought of DeHaan's other works!

So far I've played Oregon and Saint and the City, but I'm sure there must be other amazing pieces that this composer has been responsible for!

Let us know so we can pester our long suffering treasurer into buying! (and then our MD into playing!)
One of these days I'll get the hang of these things.....
