Hi ,
My name is Bill and I have been playing instruments since the age of 10. I began on a Fife with the Adelaide Drum & Fife band so long ago it makes my head spin! Since that time I have progressed through many different band scenarios and have graduated with a Music degree back in 1974. At present I am a member of the City of Adelaide Concert Band where I play as the the First Clarinet leader. I also am the librarian with the Band.
My other instruments are Alto,Tenor and Baritone saxes which I use mainly in Big Band combos and Flute. I did play Piccolo for some time but foolishly sold it!! The last instrument I purchased was the Yamaha Wind controller (WX7) and this gives me access into any instrument sound that I need for any playing occasion. The Brass sounds are excellent but Clarinets are a little synthetic. Some years back I was featured on the TV show "Come On Kids" demonstrating this instruments capabilities and I notice that James Morrison also plays a Wind Controller too and there is a stage band in America which only use the WX7 for all instruments ranging from trumpets to sax section to trombones.
The current band I play with rehearses once a week and is growing musically and numerically each month. We would lke to enlist more 3rd trumpet, 3rd Clarinet, Bassoon and Oboe players so I hope some players read this and answer the call. Our last gig was during the Tour Down Under where we premiered a new piece caled "Bike Race" which I arranged for the Band.
Our next gig is part of the Adelaide Fringe and we're playing at the German Club in Flinders Street on Sunday March 1st at 2pm.

Hi Bill!

Nice to meet you! Welcome to the forum! It's been a bit quiet lately, but with Nats just around the corner, it should pick up a bit!

Hope to see you around the forum!

Cheers
